We are delighted to announce that this year's guest speaker for the Landor Association Annual Lecture is Dr Helen Castor (KHS 1979 - 86).

Dr Helen Castor is a medieval historian, writer and broadcaster who taught History at her alma mater, the University of Cambridge. A Fellow of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, she is also an Old Girl of King’s High School. Her prize-winning published works include ‘Blood and Roses’, and ‘She Wolves: The Women who ruled England before Elizabeth’; the latter is dedicated to her King’s High history teachers, Miss Yates and Miss Lenygon. Her television series include ‘Joan of Arc: God’s Warrior’, ‘England’s Forgotten Queen: The Life and Death of Lady Jane Grey’ and ‘Medieval Lives: Birth, Marriage and Death’. One of three King’s High Old Girls to have appeared on University Challenge, Dr Castor also captained the winning Gonville and Caius team of former students on Christmas University Challenge in 2013.  She was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2017.   

The event will take place on Monday 24 February and will be held in The School Hall, King's High, 7pm. A drinks reception will follow.
