Landor Association Lecture with Catherine Bott (KHS OG)

Full CalendarSchool Events

This event will take place between 7:00pm and 9:00pm on 19/01/2022

Singer and broadcaster Catherine Bott first found her voice in the choir at King’s High: after A-levels she studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Following two years with the renowned scat-singing vocal octet, the Swingles, she began an international solo career with prominent early music ensembles in programmes of long-lost songs of courtly love, earthly pleasures and spiritual hunger. Her extensive discography covers several centuries, including the original medieval Carmina Burana, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Fauré’s Requiem. Helping concert audiences to appreciate unfamiliar repertoire eventually led to a new career in broadcasting: after 10 years as a regular presenter on BBC Radio 3, in 2013 she was invited to move to Classic FM, where she presents a popular live Sunday show. Catherine is a Fellow of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and an Honorary Fellow of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she has also served on the Board of Governors.

Above all, Catherine understands the importance of following one's ambitions, and we are delighted that she will deliver our sixth Landor Lecture on 19th January
